Why do I complain, you may ask yourself? I'm asking myself that same question, but to me it just seemed really wrong to to be there just to take advantage of the free internet service. without the aid of the staffs of the Graduate Center's Mina Rees Library, Hunter College's Leon & Toby Cooperman Library, the New York Public Library. The second thing that bothered me was the fact that there are so many people 'scrounging' the free wi-fi! Now, I don't mean to sound horrible, but it is a library after all, yet the amount of people using the space in the seating areas and chairs and tables placed around the rooms, for Facebook/Youtube and other social networks really surprised me. We went in May and although the temperatures were way higher than what you would normally expect for the season, the one place that should have been cool and comfortable (the reading room- where people were genuinely studying) was sweltering! I cannot say if they have air-conditioning or not, but I certainly hope so because in July it would be unbearable. One is that this library is in Corso Di Porta Vittoria - slap bang in the middle of town, situated in an old building - however, apart from the facade and the internal garden - which is on the main road - as soon as you walk into the library you wonder what happened to the old building, It's all very run down and ugly and sort of thrown together, absolutely not what you would expect from a library in this location. The first phase of library renovations includes the library’s main floor and became an important milestone to kickoff Hunter’s 45m fundraising campaign for subsequent phases of library renovation.

However, there are two things that I find really irritating. Hunter College The Leon and Toby Cooperman Library occupies 135,000sf over nine floors on the Hunter College campus in Manhattan. The library has an INCREDIBLE amount of books and documents available to consult free of charge. See OneCard Printing Locationsfor additional locations on campus where you can retrievie documents printed wirelessly.My first comment is that the staff is really very helpful! I cannot find fault with any of them. Five minutes after you receive confirmation you can retrieve your print job at any OneCard printer in the library, or at other locations on campus that provides wireless OneCard printing. Images must be embedded in document or they will not print. Supported document for wireless printing: Office files, email body text, PDF, html and txt files. OneCard Mobile/Wireless Printing Instructions: Alumni should visit the Office of Alumni Relations for information on access to departments.Other CUNY patrons, IELI students and *Alumni can add money to their card as well.Printers are located on floors B2, B1, 1, 2,3, 6 & 7. Don't know your NetID? Go to NetID Central to look it up. Select the print option and enter your NetID when prompted.Computers are located on floors B1, 1, 2 & 3 Open your document at any of the computers in the Library.Leftover balances do NOT carry over into the new semester. No distinction whether Grad or Undergrad. F/T students will receive $15 (300 pages $0.05/pg for b/w) and P/T students get $8 (160 pages $0.05/pg for b/w) on their card. * As of Feb 2017: Currently enrolled students in fall and spring semesters will automatically get a dollar amount allocation each semester on their OneCard for printing only at any OneCard printer on campus. Deposit money on your Hunter OneCard if needed.If you would like to add money on your card with a credit card, log into to do so. OneCard kiosks no longer accept credit cards. The work will commence on Monday, May 10 in the hours of 7am to 4pm, Monday through Friday.

OneCard kiosks are located on floors 3 & 4 in the Cooperman Library. GUEST cards expire one year after purchase (even if there is a balance left on the card). Patrons from other CUNY schools and visitors must purchase a GUEST card ($5 per card, contains $2.50 balance and is refillable) from an OneCard kiosk machine to print/copy. Current Hunter students, staff, and faculty now use their Hunter ID/OneCard to pay for printing and copying services.
